EDIT, January, 2014 Today, I stumbled on this yourtango 2014203359 lThe writer, Ms Trespicio, goes a lot farther condemning the book than I did or should have and she makes it clear that if you want something in life, you have to DO something to get it Or to get rid of it as the case may be True, actions start with thoughts and I think that s where I should have been clear in my prior write up.So, a couple of things of note Reducing my rating for the book from three stars to one The book should [...]

This book literally changed my life The first part was a little airy fariy to me but after getting into the bulk of the book, you learn how to re think of what you want to attract into your life Thoughts are powerful and just as easily as you can attract prosperity, happiness, and love, you can attract just the opposite into you life as well.It s not a book that just tells you to think happy thoughts and all will be well, it goes deeper than that, and I go back and read sections of it over and o [...]

The fact that this book ended up in my hands it a testament to the law of attraction I was wanting a source that out lined the major laws of the universe From what I understand there are only a few All the other laws are overtones and sub harmonics to these three, the trilogy As to the source of this information, it comes from a group of individuals who exist at a slightly higher vibrational rate This group collectively calls itself Abraham One of the Co authors Esther Hicks goes into a slight t [...]

    4. Sohaib says:
This book is written in the dialectic style of Socrates From the peaceful slumber of a meditative state, Esther becomes in touch with I dare say possessed by the numinous figure of Abraham, the shepherd of her soul Her husband Jerry is ecstatic He uses his possessed wife as a channel through which Abraham shall answer the riddles of the universe Quite the arrangement for a book about the main tenet of New Thought philosophy the Law of Attraction. The Socratic method presupposes an argument Jerry [...]

Did you know that if you want to become rich all you have to do is believe you will and you will If you do not it s because you didn t believe you would Oh this is such a pile of crap It s nice to think positively but Esther Hicks is an outright liar and scam artist. This is one of the few books I immediately threw in the garbage after giving it a fair chance It is utter garbage.I have seen that phony Esther Hicks on You Tube doing her Abraham act She nods her head once or twice and then presto, [...]

Ignore any negative reviews about this book and its message If you don t like Ouija boards then pass over that section like I did For the rest of the information contained in this material, your doing yourself a major disservice for not reading and comprehending this knowledge.Once you read it, you ll know the truth it contains Think about all those experiences you ve had in life that YOU attracted into it Did you not think you were magnetic in nature I remember those little tiny messages I once [...]

If you liked the movie The Secret, this book will take you deeper into understanding how to really make this powerful law work in your own life I recommend this book frequently to clients and use it in my coaching and speaking work to emphasize how each of us really do create our reality Now that I know how the Law works, I have become able to stay much positive and trusting It amazes me how things fall into place as they never have before The principles within the book are ageless and timeless [...]

I ran out of time to finish this book, but I did get about halfway through before it became overdue Once you get past the initial weirdness into the QA part, it does get interesting, if repetitive I completely believe in the power of thought and attitude to alter our perception of reality Under certain conditions, I somewhat believe in their assertion that thought can actually alter reality I have a very hard time believing their assertion that absolutely everything in your life was drawn to you [...]

The seeking movement of the ego wanting, dukkha, desire is the root of suffering in several spiritual traditions Here it s celebrated as the source by which we can manifest desired things I couldn t handle the disappointment of doing the visualizations with zero payoff I was just feeding the mind monster, being lost in thought instead of being present I listened to several of these CD s before I gave up Channeled works tends to be bologna, but I must admit this was entertaining.

    10. Bobby 1 says:
When it comes to self help type books, I have read em all Over the years I have scoured book stores and market stalls seeking that one book that would answer all my questions AND motivate me to get things happening in my life The Law of Attraction is truly the first book I have read, that encompasses everything that is required for success and inner peace I read the entire book within 3 days, put it down and realised I had found THE book Since then I have been applying these new principles over [...]

Read this on a recommendation While I did not buy it wholesale and some parts struck me as weird , I took two helpful points from a quick read 1 You are going to attract the good and bad things you think about most 2 It is better to think positively in terms of what you want rather than negatively in terms of what you don t want.

    12. Treo says:
5 years a committed follower of these teachings ultimately harmful than helpful. These teachings do seem great and feel great at first, but eventually I found them harmful, not helpful A word to the wise, if something seems too good to be true IT IS.I was thoroughly committed to these teachings for 5 years It took me on an emotional high I felt that my life was amazing and felt I knew the secrets of the universe This is mainly what this book does tells you all good news and teaches you to manipu [...]

Love, validation, the secret of eternal life will all be found in this book What is the cost Only your critical thinking skills You must completely surrender yourself to your emotional guidance and let it show you the secrets of the universe Esther Hicks channels this book or as she would say, receives from a nonphysical perspective from the group of entities collectively known as Abraham They know what you want, everything that you desire, and they will tell you everything that will make you fe [...]

I have read Ask and It Is Given, another book by these authors, while there is some overlap in content, the two books bring up a lot of different ideas and practices Ask and It Is Given devotes a large section to processes that move you up the emotional scale The Law of Attraction focuses on the Universal Laws which govern everyone, whether we are aware of them or not, and how to increase our awareness to co create a deliberate life of what we DO WANT The format of the book is QA, with Jerry Hi [...]

6 years ago I tried reading this book and hated its guts Then I rated it 1 Today I m giving it 5 Same book, different me Embrace change Change is good, change is normal Do I feel bad for originally giving it 1 No, the old me would feel that way, the new me is just happy she loves the book now All is good

    16. Roma says:
I don t know why the authors of this book bothered to tell us the material was channeled from non physical entities, other than, I presume, to claim authority beyond their own selves or just to tell the truth as they see it, perhaps I m not a believer in channeling and that s why I was reluctant to buy and read it, but I persevered, and I have to say that the material stands on its own If the authors had just written the book as a work of fiction which it may well be, in reality , it would be ju [...]

    17. Melina says:
Wasn t sure how to rate this bookPersonally I wasn t a fan While I do believe from my own experience of it that we do attract based on our vibrations to some extent not necessarily exactly the specific thing we ve been dreaming about , I did not appreciate this presentation of the LoA There are a tonne of run on sentences and strange ways of explaining things that made this easy enough concept a bit of a drag to read Here s an example from pg 79 But as you recognize that this Guidance System whi [...]

I m reading this book right now It was given to me by someone who enjoyed it I do find it a bit creepy I ve read in many health magazines that positive thoughts make us feel better.Do I think the people I ve cared for in Homes wouldn t of had a stroke, or a heart attack or MS and so on if they had though positiveI know some of those people are very positive and up people with good careers, good family and so ond they still had a stroke and ended up in a wheelchair at a early ageI have health pro [...]

    19. Anya says:
Ok, I m into this sort of thing, of believing that there s a all knowing collective consciousness Ester Hicks seems to be able to tap into this through an entity she calls Abraham She is a conduit or channel into this knowledge.Kind a scary at first, then comforting and inspirational thoroughout, Jerry asks great questions of this all knowing entity, it has fantastic answers that are guiding principals for how we should live our lives.Makes you really watch what you re thinking about Proves over [...]

edit reworded for clarityI ve read this book a few times and it is undeniably useful I know it will help anyone who reads it just by itself, but if people follow up by reading complimentary books on the subject to go along with it, someone new to this forward way of thinking may grasp the concept and be able to use it The only book that comes to mind is Awareness by Anthony de Mello which helps you learn how to wait for it be aware It can teach you how to live in the moment which will then make [...]

    21. Sharon says:
I think I should have read this book prior to Ask and It Is Given Learning to Manifest Your Desires This book is a sort of primer to the Law of Attraction concepts outlined in the other book, but it does not have the detailed exercises that help you make it work It is, however, an excellent explanation of how the Law of Attraction works, as well as things like segment intending what you plan for a particular part of your day from an emotional perspective, such as planning to wake up refreshed an [...]

    22. Kimbra says:
Interesting, selfish, and from a shady source One of the most detailed and specific texts on the Law of Attraction I ve read anywhere heavily blended with lies and half truths about our eternal identity and a complete neglect of our responsibilities in what we do with this knowledge I give it one star, because unless you have a REALLY good handle on the plan of salvation and are pretty darn expert at discerning truth from error, you will have a tremendous difficulty in sifting through this text [...]

    23. Katie Glanz says:
This book was pretty wacky It made a few good points, but in general the idea that everyone has complete free will, and all misfortune is self induced is a very dangerous one This kind of thinking contributes to scary modes of thought including rational self interest and individualism, ideologies that actively deny the existence of social structures and cultural contexts This justification of existing systems of inequality can only contribute to human suffering.

    24. Heidi The Hippie Reader says:
The most powerful part of this for me was segment intention The rest of it I ve read in the Secret or from other New Age authors The channeled element of this book is interesting Has anyone else listened to recordings of Ester Hicks Abraham from the 80 s She had a much thicker channeled accent then, I wonder what changed it with time

    25. Arminius says:
It is a good collection of stories that I will summarize as simply You are what you think you are.

    26. RebekahS says:
Starting this book was weird I really wasn t sure what all to expect from it The idea of a channelled book was off putting the only way I really got into it was looking at it as the authors wanted to write about the LoA but decided to say it s channeled because they thought it would pull credibility They were rather in that circle, as they admit themselves at the start, and had been looking into the topic long enough to be writing about it themselves Looking at this book as simply the authors w [...]

    27. Farah Mehboob says:
The book had an interesting view point on existence and the interplay of mind, body and soul One very impressive thing about the book is its consistency and seamless flow from one topic to another without repetition.

    28. Christine says:
Downloaded the audio book because Jess from The Lively Show recommended it Completely changed the way I think about life and I wish I d read it yeeeears before It is that good It is pretty much the foundation that The Secret was built on, but luckily nothing like it Although I d say it s beneficial if you re open to the transrational.

    29. Joyce says:
The basic message of this book is powerful and inspirational Although I have read other books with a similar message, it was still good This book found me and its timing was perfect Thank you JoAnn.
